Style Machine is an art venue in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood, and this website runs the whole operation: tickets, a shop, venue rentals, member accounts, an artist marketplace and the staff’s own tools. It runs on Wix’s business platform, with a custom front end we designed and built ourselves. If your business is on Wix and has outgrown what the editor can do, this page shows what’s possible.
What this site does on Wix
Event ticketing and RSVPs
Custom event pages sell tickets through Wix Events, including pay-what-you-can tickets, and take RSVPs for free events with one RSVP per email. Every ticket carries a QR code for check-in at the door, and the event calendar and weekly schedule fill themselves from the same events.
An online shop with sections for each artist
The shop runs on Wix Stores and Wix eCommerce, with a layout staff arrange by dragging products into groups, a section for each featured artist, photo galleries, and shipping priced by weight with free local pickup. Signed-in members arrive at checkout with their details filled in, and people who leave items in their cart get a reminder email with a link back to it.
Venue rentals and appointments
We built a venue rental listing that books through Wix Bookings, with a rental agreement signed online and a deposit that’s only marked received once Wix confirms the payment, and bookable private appointments that work the same way. Staff switch each one on or off from the site’s settings.
Member accounts and a loyalty program
Visitors create a free account to see their tickets, orders, bookings and saved events in one dashboard. Members earn rewards for buying tickets, RSVPing, checking in, shopping and donating. Wix Automations tell the site the moment something happens, so rewards land within seconds, and refunds take them back automatically.
A consignment marketplace for artists
Artists apply to consign, sign their agreement online, submit new pieces, and follow every sale and payout from their own portal. Every change an artist makes to a listing, from a price to a photo, waits for staff approval before it goes live, and each sale is tracked so their share is paid correctly.
Pages artists design themselves
Featured artists build their own pages from blocks (headers, galleries, video, links and their pieces for sale) in the site’s own look. Staff review each version before it’s published, and search descriptions are written for each page as it goes live.
Tools to run the venue
Behind the scenes the same site handles staff scheduling with printable event run-sheets, inventory and reorder lists, projected finances, a contacts and donors database, project boards, a master calendar, refunds, and a weekly email digest for each staff member. Staff sign in with two-factor codes, and each person only sees the tools they’ve been given.
A community game
Signed-in members get a shared, pixel-art world called the Grove, with avatars, gardens, collaborative stories and a song composer, where they spend the rewards they earn. It shows how far a Wix site can go beyond pages and products.
AI where it helps, never for the art
AI suggests how to crop photos into banner headers and sharpens small pictures, and it does each picture only once. It never generates art on this website.
How it’s built
The site uses Wix Headless: Wix runs the business side, and a custom front end built with Next.js and hosted on Vercel handles everything visitors see. That keeps Wix’s secure checkout, payments, emails and dashboard, while the design and features aren’t limited by a template.

- Connected services: transactional email, AI image framing and upscaling, film databases for importing screenings, and daily off-site backups of all site data.
- Built to be reliable: every feature is tested against live data before release, and changes that arrive at the same moment (two purchases, a double-click) are handled so nothing is lost or counted twice.
- Built to be found: new events, products and pages appear in search results as soon as they’re published, with structured data for events and artists.
